Using Spaces with Specialized Services at King Library

SJPL Works

SJPL Works is a large area located on the 3rd floor of the King Library. You may only use the space, equipment, and/or collection for career or business-related needs. Additional information can be found through their webpage.

California Room

The California Room at the King Library contains unique and fragile materials documenting California and local history that require special care and protection. Guidelines for the use of the collection can be found through their webpage. The collection is available in person during open hours and online through the digital collection 24/7.

Teen HQ & Children’s Area

San Jose State University Library Policy

The SJSU Academic Senate has a policy regarding the joint operation of the library with SJPL and the security of library collections.

Student Computing Services

Located on the 4th floor, Student Computing Services is where SJSU students, faculty, and staff can borrow laptops, iPads, and more from SCS at no charge. Consultation services are also provided. These services are not available for public library customers.

The King Library Experiential Virtual Reality (KLEVR) Lab

The KLEVR Lab is dedicated to enhancing teaching and learning through a variety of AR and VR content and technology. The lab is located on the 4th floor and will be open for student and faculty reservation starting in Fall 2018. Early access for faculty can be arranged by contacting Christina Mune.

The Grad Lab

Grad students enrolled at SJSU have access to a dedicated space in the lower level, with access to computers, study areas, and lockers as available. Access is is granted by presenting a valid SJSU Tower ID at the SJSU circulation desk on the first floor where a key code is provided on a weekly basis.

Materials Library

The Materials Library, located in the Lower Level, is a collection of 500 material samples including polymers, metals, glass, and ceramics that library visitors can review, evaluate and experience. The materials are indexed and described in depth in the Material ConneXion database.
