Getting Articles

  1. The Library subscribes to many online databases that contain fulltext articles from periodicals: magazines, newspapers and journals. You may consult the SJSU Electronic Journals Index to determine which database has the periodical you are looking for.

    Who can access what?
    - SJSU students, faculty and staff may access SJSU online databases anytime outside King Library.
    - SJPL cardholders (including SJSU students) may access SJPL online databases anytime outside King Library and SJPL branches.
    - Anyone may access all the Library's online databases within King Library and all the SJPL databases within an SJPL branch library.

  2. Interlibrary Services (ILLiad) lets you request copies of articles from libraries all over the world. Try Interlibrary Services when an article is not found in the Library or its online databases.

Requests can be made by filling out a ILLiad online request form. This service is available to all Library cardholders. It may take up to 2 weeks for your request to be filled.
  3. Other local libraries may have the periodical you need - call or check their online catalogs to find one that does and then visit that library to copy the article.

  4. Commercial Document Delivery services are available that will send you articles for a fee.
