Adult Summer Reading Program

Master the Art of Reading is this year's theme for the Adult Summer Reading Celebration. Read or listen to fiction and nonfiction books, go to library events, earn prizes, have a little fun.


Program Basics

The program runs June 13 - August 8, 2009.

  • Reading
    Read or listen to any books in any language or format including our new downloadable titles. You can find more information on this page under How To Participate   ►  

  • Events
    Attend entertaining free events, like musical performances; art, craft and gardening workshops; and cooking demonstrations. See the list of Adult Summer Reading Events below on this page.

  • Prizes
    You can win prizes, too, with drawings every 2 weeks.
    • Gift cards to places like OSH, Barnes and Noble, Target, and Buca di Beppo
    • "Master the Art of Reading" mugs, vintage book frontispieces, or cool eco-friendly fabric shopping bags

This year you can:

  • Sign up for the program online
  • Record in your online account what you read
  • Post book reviews online

Track what you read in your own online account.

Review
Enter online a review of each book you read and be instantly enrolled in a prize drawing every 2 weeks.

Reality
Only the books you read between Saturday, June 13, and Saturday, August 8, will be eligible.
