Who Can Be in the Program

Learner and tutor

To be in the Partners in Reading program, you must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older and not be in high school.
  • Speak English well.
  • Read and/or write below a 9th grade level.
  • Live in San José.
  • Be able to make and keep appointments without the help of someone else.
  • Maintain appropriate behavior with your tutor and staff.
  • Be able to meet with your tutor at least two hours a week for at least six months.

Hours:
Monday, Wednesday 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM
Tuesday, Thursday - Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Saturday, Sunday Closed
