Who Can Be in the Program

To be in the Partners in Reading program, you must:
- Be 18 years of age or older and not be in high school.
- Speak English well.
- Read and/or write below the 9th grade level.
- Live or work in San José.
- Be able to make and keep appointments without the help of someone else.
- Maintain appropriate behavior with your tutor and staff.
- Be able to meet with your tutor at least three hours a week for at least six months.
