- They provide a wide variety of information
- Often, multiple authors provide multiple points of view on your topic
- They are often very specialized

- Assume you know the terminology of the field
- Articles are not ususally comprehensive treatments of a subject and you may also need to use other resources to find
background information, history, definitions, etc.
- Paper and microfilm copies must be used or photocopied in the Library
