Literacy Services

  • Partners in Reading (PAR): Enables English-speaking adults and their families to improve their basic literacy skills so they can achieve their goals and function more effectively sources.

  • Families for Literacy: Introduces adult literacy learners and their families to the value and joy of reading as a family.

Instruction and Training Classes

  • InfoPower Tutorial: An interactive, web-based, tutorial that helps SJSU students improve their research skills. Learn how to effectively select, search, evaluate and use information sources.

  • Internet & Computer Classes: The King Library and San José Public Library branches offer a variety of free computer training classes for all ages and skill levels. Learn the basics of using a computer, how to surf the World Wide Web, or how to search like an expert!

  • SJSU Information Literacy: In order to become adept at research, SJSU students need to achieve information literacy. Learn how the King Library is working towards this goal at SJSU and check out guidelines for searching, finding materials, evaluating information and writing your research.
