The California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO) announced
the King Library as the recipient of its First Place award in the category
of "Special Event or Marketing / Communications Campaign" for
the Library's Grand Opening. The annual Awards of Excellence recognize outstanding
public information programs and campaigns by government, non-profit, educational,
and private agencies throughout California. The award was presented April
29, 2004.
