CHILDREN - INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGES MATERIALS POLICY

print thisPrint This

Statement of Policy & Text
To welcome children of all backgrounds, and to reflect our diverse community, all language materials of the active children’s collection will be housed in one area, the Children’s Room of the King Library.

Need for the Policy
For ease of access, all children’s materials in all languages need to be housed in one area, the Children’s Room, instead of being divided between Youth Services and Languages.
  • Reflecting the diversity of the community, children of all backgrounds will feel welcome by having their own room.
  • Sorting and shelving are simpler as the active children’s collection will be located in one room.
  • Bilingual programming for children will be enhanced.
