PERIODICALS - YOUTH SERVICES POLICY

Statement of Policy & Text
Young Adult and Children's periodicals at the King Library may be checked out for a one-week period by any patron who has a current SJSU or SJPL library card. This policy also applies to the most current issue of a periodical title.

Need for the Policy
The Adult periodicals collection at King Library, is a resource for citizens, students, and faculty, and is therefore, a non-circulating collection.

Young Adult and Children's periodicals are read mostly for entertainment. This policy allows periodicals in these collections to be borrowed just as other children's and young adult materials are.

Requirements & Guidelines
  • All Young Adult and Children's periodicals may be checked out for one week with one renewal allowed.

  • Young Adult and Children's periodicals are not reservable.


Applicable Personnel/Departments
All library staff who are involved in the receiving, processing and circulating of Youth Services materials are affected by this policy.
