Calling all young fans of Harry Potter, ages
7 through 17! Enter a drawing, starting Friday June 8,
for your chance to board the “Harry Potter and the Deathly
Hallows Knight Bus” on Tuesday, July 10.
Winning fans will get to videotape their thoughts about the Harry
Potter series, which concludes with release on July 21 at 12:01
a.m. of the final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Each of two scheduled visits by the “Knight Bus” can
accommodate 225 fans; 450, total.
All entries received by 6:00 p.m. on Saturday,
June 23 will be eligible for a drawing to be held at all San José
Public Library locations on Wednesday, June 27. Twenty-five lucky
winners from each library will receive a promise ticket to be held
and exchanged on the day of the event for a special bracelet that
will be their passport to board the bus. See below for details of

RULES OF PARTICIPATION
- Drawing is open to children, ages 7 through 17.
- Go to your closest San
José Public Library location to complete a drawing
entry form, selecting the color coded form that indicates your
preferred location (Berryessa
Branch OR Cambrian
Branch)
- Entry by 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 23 is
limited to one per person.
- Twenty-five winners will be randomly selected from each location
on Wednesday, June 27. Any duplicate entries
uncovered in this process will be automatically disqualified and
another name drawn.
- Winners will be notified by Saturday, June 30
to come and complete the pre-registration process prior to the
event. Failure to do so by Saturday, July 7 will result in
loss of place. IMPORTANT: All children under
age 18 must have a parent/guardian present at this time to sign
their Release Form.
- Winners will be issued a “promise” ticket, which
they must bring with them on the day of the event. Each winner
will be assigned a time slot. They must be present on the day
of the event during their assigned time slot.
- Winners should plan to arrive a half hour in advance of their
assigned time slot to exchange the “promise” ticket
for an official “passport” bracelet and enter the
line to board the bus.
- Failure to arrive by 15 minutes after the assigned start time
will result in loss of place and a replacement will be called
from a wait list established on the day of the event.
