2006 Peace Poetry Contest Winners Announced

The winners of the Peace Poetry Contest were awarded prizes at the World Peace Concert at the King Library. Thank you to everyone who entered the contests.

SJSU Contest Winners:
1st Place: "World Peace Waits" by Etonde Thomas, Freshman
2nd Place: "My Peace" by Shavan Young, Senior
3rd place: "Peace Poem" by Alicia Winding, Freshman
Honorable Mention: "The Peaceful Message" by Adrian Maldonado, Junior

Teen Contest Winners:
1st Place: "Peace" by Natasha Iyer, Junior
2nd Place: "Tribute to Peace" by Maggi Lai, 8th grade
3rd place: "The Peace Dream" by Nhat-Dang Do, 8th grade
Honorable Mention: "Obscure Peace" by John Nguyen, 11th grade

Children's Contest Winners:
1st place: "World Peace" by Aracely Aguilar, 5th grade
2nd place: "World Peace" by Hugo Maldonado, 5th grade
3rd place: "A Peaceful World" by Armon Khosraviani, 5th grade
Honorable Mention: "Serenity" by Richa Wadekar, 5th grade

All participants receive a Certificate of Participation. Those that were not picked up at the concert can be picked up at the branch where that person submitted their poem.
