West Valley Book Club
For this month's title we'll be reading the 2010 Silicon Valley Reads selection In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan. In his 2006 blockbuster, The Omnivore's Dilemma, Michael Pollan gave voice to Americans' deep anxiety about food. Subsequent questions abounded about what and how we should be eating. In Defense of Food is Pollan's answer:
"Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants." This slim, yet remarkable book is quickly becoming a classic of contemporary non-fiction. This event takes place in the Community Room
