About Seventrees Branch Library

Popular collections at SeventreesSeventrees Library serves a culturally diverse neighborhood. We have five major language collections: Chinese, Hindi, Panjabi, Spanish and Vietnamese. These collections are very popular, especially the media. Seventrees neighborhood is composed of apartment complexes and homes plus commercial businesses, and many of our customers work for the Civil Service. Test books are very popular for this reason.

The Children’s and Vietnamese collections are the most highly used in Seventrees Library. There are also special collections of career and job information, resumes, computer books, ESL, Adult New Reader, citizenship, parenting, home improvement and decorating, and large print materials.

Children’s Programming at Seventrees Library incorporates early childhood development modules in literacy, active listening, drama, movement, singing and art projects of different kinds. Weekly storytimes incorporate age-appropriate developmental training for the varying age groups. Reading with Children also encourages active listening, along with books chosen by the reader and by the children. Craft programs are incorporated into the monthly schedule as time permits.

A new computer lab with flat-screen monitors is very popular. These computers are often used for job searches and resume writing, as well as for Email and recreational purposes. A recent renovation highlights special displays and self-service features such as the hold shelf and self-check machines.

Materials checked out from any San José Public Library branch may be returned to Seventrees. For your convenience, there is an after-hours book drop to the right of the front door.
