The Contest
Do you perform in your school choir or take singing lessons? Does your shower often double as a concert hall?
Perhaps friends and family are always telling you "what a great voice you have."
Here's your chance to share your talent with the entire city!
If you are 12-19 years old and a resident of San José, then you can compete during the month of April for a chance to win San José Public Library's "San José Teen Idol" competition!
Each branch library will host its own local neighborhood competition and winners will receive cash prizes:
- 1st Place = $50
- 2nd Place = $25
- 3rd Place = $10
Please come to the library to register and pick up a rule sheet (rules also available online).
Grand Finale Event
The first place winner from each branch will be one of the finalists at the Grand Finale event downtown at the Dr. Martin Luther, Jr. Library on Saturday, May 17th! Finalists will compete to win the following prizes:
- 1st place: Voice Lessons sponsored by Deborah Levoy Vocal Studio and $250.
- 2nd place: $150
- 3rd place: $100
